We're proud to announce that one of our founders, Kay Hardy, was crowned Business Analyst of the Year 2024 by AssistKD at the IRM BA Conference.
Here's an interview we did with Kay on this amazing achievement!
Congrats on being crowned BA of the Year 2024. How does it feel?
Things are slowly sinking in. The joy and relief I've felt over the last few days have been deeply ingrained in me, and I will never forget those 60 seconds on stage.

Tell us about your career journey and how long you’ve been in this profession.
I’ve been working in business analysis for around 10 years. Although I haven’t always held the title of Business Analyst, I often found myself in roles where I utilised the business analysis toolkit and skills.
Currently, I work more in the Service Design space, but I still do a lot of business analysis work.
What’s one thing you’re most proud of from your career journey so far?
There are many things I’m proud of.
This year alone, I delivered numerous projects for the enterprise and end customers that I’m incredibly proud of (one of my services even won a global award!)
Of course, there’s also the founding of Young Business Analysts and growing it to where it is today, being recognised within the industry.
But above all, I’m most proud of overcoming a lot of self-doubt and imposter syndrome to continue giving my best every day.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give young Business Analysts to have an impact in their careers?
Never underestimate the impact you can have on others, no matter where you are in your career. I’ve had people with much more experience than me thank me for supporting them during key moments in their careers.
Today, they are well-known in the industry in their own right, even representing the country in their specialism!
